My last project used Gupta's SQLBase: a client-server database system, to deliver a time series risk management system to the Bank's Internal Credit Control Department.
1982 My First PC

An ACT Sirius PC... also sold as Victor 9000. Two 5" floppies and no hard drive!
Why $5,000 for a PC?
In 1982, my brother was working as a free-lance programmer and he bought an ACT Sirius.
I started to learn to program and I enjoyed it so much I bought my own computer - a Victor 9000 - and briefly considered starting a business selling "Solutions" using the PC.
Eventually I joined the Bank's Systems Development Department to provide the service to departments in the International division.
