Web-sites for The Framingham MBA
I built and maintained two and a half web-sites for The Framingham MBA program, one with a site for smart phones in 2007 and the other in 2008.
The Framingham MBA 2007
The site used the Fridsen menuing system down the left hand side in frames. It was dynamically resizable, including JavaScript to rescale the embedded Google Maps. It sought to provide all of the information a potential applicant might need and had Acrobat forms for applications etc...
My colleagues disliked the menus, the dynamic resizing of the pages and the slider bars that appear when the content of a frame is larger than the frame itself, so...
The Framingham MBA 2008-2009
The content of the site is similar, but the site is fixed width, with the Spry menu bar across the top and some other changes to the style.
The site for smart phones
This site was intended to provide the key details and Acrobat forms. It assumed small displays and low bandwith and used no graphics.
Originally, the main site included JavaScript code which redirected the user to the site for smart phones if their display was of limited size.
Google Analytics revealed that the site for smart phones was rarely visited and the delay in accessing the main site as JavaScript was checking for smart phones was considered to be unacceptable, so the redirection was discontinued.
